Concrete has tiny spaces or “capillaries” into which dampness and dirt can penetrate. Over time, this can impact how the concrete looks due to the ingress of moisture, dirt, and detritus. Optical defects such as efflorescence, dirt, staining, and colour fade; can be especially visible on coloured or black products. While conventional post-production processes merely seal or impregnate the pavers, the RAKNOR Deep Guard system is integrated into the concrete paver during the production process.

Utilising state-of-the-art production processes and advanced material technology, rigorously tested admixtures and coatings are applied to enhance the paving. Raknor’s systems utilise both pore-blocking and hydrophobic qualities to improve the concrete at the surface and throughout the entire paver. This reduces the concrete’s permeability, increasing the paving’s resistance to staining, reducing maintenance costs, and enhancing the aesthetics.
